Chime Tips

• To sort on multiple table columns, hold down the Ctrl key while clicking on column headers. Sorted columns after the first are used to break ties.
• To plot data over time, right-click a single table row or a selection of multiple rows and choose the "Plot Over Time" action in the popup menu.
• To record for later playback, first choose "Object Serialization" or "XML" from the Recording sub-menu of the Options menu. Serialized recordings load much more quickly at playback time but are less likely to remain playable in future releases of Chime (or future versions of the Java DTrace API). XML recordings are somewhat better for long-term persistence and can be edited by hand, but suffer from long loading times in the current implementation.
• To create new traces access the New Trace Wizard from the menu (File | New Trace ...) or directly from the command line with the -W option.
